Lincoln Business Angels
Lincoln is a city full of history, with a great mix of old and new architecture to behold. Previously a Roman fortress, the Normans built a castle here in the 11 th Century, which still acts as Lincolnshire 's main tourist attraction today. The city is also home to a beautifully restored and maintained medieval cathedral, which is open both for worshippers and other visitors. There is something for everyone to be found in Lincoln , from the historical quarter mentioned above, to the High Street Quarter where shopping is the main attraction, with many clothing outlets and cafes to be investigated. The Cultural Quarter is home to the Theatre Royal and the Lincoln Drill Hall, where tourists are encouraged to view The Collection, which houses an array of artefacts from a variety of ages, such as Stone, Iron and Bronze, along with items from the Roman, Viking and Medieval eras. The Brayford Waterfront provides a more modern attraction, with its exciting restaurants and bars where there is plenty of food and drink on offer to suit all tastes, as well as a multiplex cinema for the rainier days when the view across the Brayford Pool is not quite so inviting.
The city is also home to Lincoln University , set up in the early 1990's in the Brayford Pool area, where spending on the development of the Brayford Pool campus has since topped £100 million. In the early part of the 21 st Century the university relocated its headquarters from Hull to Lincoln , and took over the Lincoln School of Art and Design and the Lincolnshire School of Agriculture from De Montfort University and became formally known as the University of Lincoln . The University and its students play a big part in the culture and economy of the town, with many residents fully welcoming all of the investments and new developments, due to the way in which the town's profile has been boosted by their arrival.
If you are looking to set up a business in the Lincoln area, you may need some financial assistance, which is where Business Angels might be the right move for you. Angels are often from an entrepreneurial background, and are willing to invest their own capital into a business to help it achieve its growth plans. Unlike banks and other forms of lending, the Angel will invest in your company in return for a percentage share, or equity stake. On top of this they will provide you with their own industry knowledge, expertise and contacts, in order to further help your growth in the market. With this hands on approach by the investor, it is important that a good relationship is developed between you and the Business Angel, as they look to secure a good return on their investment. Individually, Angels are normally willing to invest between £75,000 and £250,000, but if they operate as part of syndicate then this figure could easily be higher.
When pitching your business idea to an Angel, it is essential to make sure that you have prepared an in depth business plan with all of your estimates and ideas laid out for them to scrutinise. Remember, it is their own hard earned cash that they are putting into the business, so they will want to see evidence that you have put the effort in. It would even help to show them that you have invested as much money as you can by yourself, to prove your commitment and work ethic.
If you need financial help for your business whatever your reasons may be, contact angelstartups today for free, impartial advice on how to get the financial backing you need.
