Let Your Business Plan Tell Your Story

In case you were wondering what all to include in your business plan, here are a few tips.

Include basic information regarding the company as outsiders will be interested in finding out what your company is all about before they read about the products and the services.

Include facts like the companies name, when it was established and legal documents supporting it, its age and what it offers to potential customers.

Specify whether your company is a partnership or a corporation or any other kind of legal entity like a "limited liability partnership". Mention about the owner or owners of the company.

Also include information regarding the position of the company, its nature also the use of the space and arrangement of lease etcetera. In case your company has or needs no manufacturing plants, include information regarding the medium of business and the usage of the internet and telephone systems.

In case your company's success is influenced by the location like a retail store or a hotel, mention all possible details regarding the position like the traffic, parking, whether it is in a prime location or not etc.

The amount and the nature of the details can vary according to your plan; its motive and purpose. You may include more detail or delete some. You may need to make it long and heavy or light and short depending on your company goals and the reason behind the plan.

Like, if you want to sell your company to any organization, the prospective buyers have a right to know everything about your company. In such a case you need to include all the required detail.

At the same time if yours is a business plan for internal use and your organization is small, then it can be very short and brief and you may exclude a lot of detail from it as the employees would perhaps already know the facts and figures.
