Are you a leader?
To be a good leader you must be able to focus your energy effectively. You also need to keep others working alongside you focused on your objectives effectively.
Are you passionate?
You need to be passionate about your business, without passion you will not get very far. You will be able to convey your passion to others, when you describe your business to them.
Are you self-confident?
You must have a serous belief in what you are doing, be self confident and be very good at it. Many people make the mistake of getting involved in a business because it looks like a good money maker. It's common sense really, if you know nothing about running a web company don't start a web company!
Are you organised?
Are you the type of person who always gets things done? Do you keep a schedule or a 'to-do' list? Are you always on time for appointments? If you have answered yes to all three of those questions then you are pretty well organised. If you feel well organised then you probably are.
Do you always think to yourself, "I can do that better".
Maybe you have worked for a company and know for sure you could manage it better. You may have been in many situation where you think you could do better. If that's that case it probably means you could do a better job.
Are you a "high energy" person?
Do you have plenty of energy? Starting up and running a business requires considerable energy and the ability to focus on your objectives without getting side tracked.
Are you a hard worker or prepared to work long hours?
You will need to be a hard worker and be prepared for long hours.
Starting up your own business is considerably more time intensive then working for someone else. The typical entrepreneur works an average of 12 hours per day, six and sometimes seven days a week.
Are you competitive?
A competitive spirit is mandatory really. From the start you will be in competition with your business competitors. If you like to play competitive sports then you probably are pretty competitive. Being competitive is good in business your chances for success are improved.
Are you a risk taker?
Starting a business in itself can be a big risk. You need to be able to make risky decisions all the time and cope with the consequences. Remember opportunity comes with risk.
Are you a good communicator?
Good communication is essential in business. You need to have good communication skills to sell your product or service. You also need to be able to communicate well with your staff so they understand your instructions.
